Palm Springs International Film Festival Dates: January 6-19, 2009 Location: Screening facilities throughout Palm Springs Information: (800) 898-7256 www.psfilmfest.org Description: Celebrating its 20th anniversary, The Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), will include over 400 screenings of more than 200 films from approximately 60 countries. The Festival presents a majority of the films submitted for consideration in the Best Foreign Language category for the Academy Awards, as well as a large number of American independent and international features and documentaries marking their world, North American or U.S. debuts. Screenings are held on 15 screens throughout Palm Springs.

Tour de Palm Springs Dates: February 13-14, 2009 Location: Palm Canyon Drive Information: (760) 770-4626 www.tourdepalmsprings.com Description: The first Tour de Palm Springs began in 1998 with just over 300 riders when Tim Esser rode his bicycle solo from Palm Springs, CA to Jacksonville, FL for charity. The tour hosts nearly 8,000 riders of all ages and abilities.
